Climate in Switzerland

The temperature is moderate with no extremes of hot and cold. Summer is warm to hot lasting from about June to September.

Temperatures can rise to 30ºC in the summer. In the winter, temperatures rarely drop below minus 5ºC.

The highest rainfall is received at Rochers de Navewith approximately 260 cm per year.
Rainfall is higher in the western part of Switzerland where it is affected by inflows from the Atlantic coast.

Weather north of the Alps is dry, warm and windy.

The average amount of sunshine per year is approximately 1700 hours.
