Section 1
If due to the insolvency of a Travel Services Provider:
- You have to re-arrange your journey, we will pay the reasonable cost of doing so (we will not pay more for the cost of re-arranging your journey than the non refundable costs which would have been incurred had the journey been cancelled) and the cover is limited to the same or similar standard of transport and accommodation as was originally booked.
- You have to cancel the journey (because you cannot re-arrange it) we will pay you the non-refundable unused portion of all travel costs prepaid in advance including a travel agent’s cancellation fee (travel agent’s cancellation fee is limited to the lesser of $4,000 or the amount of commission the agent had earned on the pre-paid refundable amount of the cancelled travel arrangements).
- You necessarily incur additional expenses in returning home, we will pay the reasonable additional hotel accommodation expenses incurred and additional transport expenses.
The maximum benefit limit for this section is:
Plan I: $10,000
We Will Not Pay For:
- The insolvency of any travel agent, tour wholesaler, tour operator or booking agent.
- Insolvency of a travel services provider if at the relevant time, the travel services provider was insolvent or a reasonable person would have reason to expect the travel services provider might become insolvent.
- Claims arising directly or indirectly from war, acts of foreign enemies, hostilities or warlike operations (whether war be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, insurrection, civil commotion assuming the proportions of or amounting to an uprising, military or usurped power;
- Accommodation expenses incurred after the date you originally planned to return to your home.
